Frequently asked questions

It may be the case with some mobile air conditioners that you see something sitting there that looks like Styrofoam and want to remove it. Don’t do that, it’s there for a reason.

This material is hard compressed plastic, and thus can resemble Styrofoam. It is used in all mobile air conditioners to create an insulating drum. This makes the noise made by the unit less audible and therefore you are less bothered by it. The material does not adversely affect the further operation of the air conditioner.

The pressed plastic is finished with a white casing to minimise its visibility.

Besides cooling the room, an air conditioner will always (slightly) dehumidify the air. In addition, some mobile air conditioners also have a separate dehumidification mode. The moisture extracted from the air will be collected in a water tank. This will fill up in due course and needs to be emptied. Even when the water tank is not yet full, the moisture may start leaking, for instance when you move the air conditioner.

You can empty the water tank by draining the water tank with the hose provided for that purpose. In addition to the cap, check that there is not also a plug on the drain point where you connect the hose.

The instruction booklet for your specific appliance has instructions on how to empty and drain the water tank.

If the A/C gives a message of code E7, it means the refrigerant gas has run out. Contact the dealer where the A/C was purchased to have the refrigerant gas replenished.

The codes and their meanings can also be found in the instruction booklet.
